This position is based in the US (San Francisco) and is a unique opportunity to partner with different leadership teams in the Pharma Finance organization as well as the global Legal organization. While you will primarily partner with the CFO for Genentech, the Heads of Finance for pRED, gRED and PD, this position will also partner with the Head of Global Legal Pharma and General Counsel for Genentech.

Business Acumen

• Aligning P&C strategy, goals, and objectives to overall business strategies and objectives; translates P&C strategies to drive key business results; provides guidance on talent management, workforce strategies, organization design and reward and recognition in partnership with P&C Business Partner Team Lead for Finance, P&C Enterprise Partner for Legal, other P&C Business Partners/Business Partners Advisory, other Chapters and subject-matter experts to develop high quality solutions.
• Maintaining broad-based knowledge of multiple leadership areas across the organization and its operations; uses knowledge of business and P&C insights, metrics, expertise, and decision principles to effectively diagnose topics with a wide range of complexity
• Recommending business practice/work process improvements to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital; ensures all P&C initiatives have ROI that adds to organizational Value
• Maintaining knowledge of external environment and other related information on peer and comparison groups to effectively diagnose and implement strategies to help drive business Decisions

Leadership

• Strategic sparring partner and coach for fostering VACC leadership and a leadership culture in line with the Roche leadership frame
• Diagnose P&C needs and identifies interventions that address issues of retention, change leadership, employee engagement, and leadership development, partnering with Enterprise Business Partner, WPTs/squads and other P&C Chapters as appropriate; uses appropriate tools for leadership competency and skills assessment
• Drive and implements change with proven ability to influence business leaders and P&C professionals to required outcomes
• Influence, develop, mentor and provide VACC leadership partnering with Advisory Business Partners

Strategic P&C Insights & Innovation

• Gather and analyze internal and external data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, P&C and business metrics to make critical decisions; shares insights with leaders and recommends innovative solutions based on the P&C decision principles that support the culture, strategic direction and resources
• Diagnose root causes of work environment issues, disruptive team dynamics and ineffective organizational setups; initiates interventions and shapes solutions in collaboration and co-creation with key stakeholders across multiple leadership areas

Who you are

• 12+ years of related/relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Exemplifies strong leadership skills, with or without direct reports and demonstrates the potential to take on broader and more impactful P&C enterprise roles
• Demonstrates enterprise mindset and system thinking, proven ability to work effectively across multiple leadership areas, global teams and networks in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrated ability and experience in effectively diagnosing short to mid-term P&C needs, and shaping and leading large scale global initiatives to address them
• Passion for and focus on building diverse and inclusive work cultures which foster psychological safety and a strong sense of belonging
• Role models VACC leadership. Proven ability to lead with a creative mindset, acting as a coach and mentor for senior leaders

This position is based on-site at the South San Francisco site.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is$160,800 to $298,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
