Full Job Description
We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist to support the Veteran community in the Baltimore, MD area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

Position Highlights:
  • Logistics:
    • Pay: $65.00+ / hour
    • Schedule: Full-time - Monday - Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
    • Contract Length: 4 years (3/2030)

What does a typical day look like for the Pharmacist?

You will:
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Receives, interprets, processes, and fills medication orders.
  • Assists in drug procurement by reporting needed items to the unit's pharmaceutical procurer.
  • Reviews the patient's medication profile for any possible drug allergies, incompatibilities, interactions, duplications, or compliance problems.
  • Assumes an active role in the professional education of pharmacy students and provided guidance through designated programs.
  • Participate in quality assurance audits and drug utilization reviews.
  • Acts to ensure that Medical Center and Pharmacy policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • The Outpatient Pharmacist may be required to complete Inpatient Pharmacist responsibilities as needed.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • 2 years of inpatient or outpatient experience
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Immunization Administration certificate.
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
