About the Role:
As a CBRE OT Senior Systems Engineer, you will manage infrastructure resources by monitoring system platforms and information technology operations. This job is part of the System Engineering job function. They are responsible for successfully executing and monitoring software design requirements and improvements to increase efficiency.
What You'll Do:
• Develop, install, and test new network hardware and software releases, and system upgrades.
• Evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
• Provide expertise on decisions and priorities on systems architecture.
• Engage with application development teams on current infrastructure projects.
• Establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Design, deploy, and manage virtualization and cloud environments, including Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft Azure across on-premises and hybrid platforms.
• Optimize resource allocation, system performance, availability, and resilience across virtual infrastructure.
• Lead the development of system designs, technical standards, and infrastructure best practices.
• Implement, administer, and continuously improve enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and validate that recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives are achieved.
• Maintain business continuity plans for critical systems and identify opportunities to improve recoverability and operational readiness.
• Apply infrastructure security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, access control, and configuration hardening.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to detect, respond to, and contain infrastructure threats and support incident response activities.
• Ensure systems align with internal policies, security standards, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
• Support enterprise networking environments by working across firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, VLANs, and related connectivity services.
• Collaborate with network teams, vendors, and carriers to resolve network incidents, performance issues, and capacity-related concerns.
• Manage identity and access platforms, including Active Directory, Entra ID, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls.
• Support onboarding, offboarding, access reviews, and access governance processes to maintain appropriate user access.
• Administer privileged access management platforms and workflows for elevated infrastructure access, secure remote access, credential vaulting, and approval-based access.
• Enforce least-privilege access, session monitoring, credential rotation, access logging, periodic access reviews, and audit support for privileged accounts.
• Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to remediate privileged access risks and strengthen access control practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, operational standards, and change records that support reliable team execution.
• Drive consistency in how infrastructure changes are planned, approved, implemented, documented, and communicated.
What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems. • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, virtualization, cloud, or related enterprise technology environments.
• Hands-on experience with Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft Azure in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, switches, routers, VLANs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting identity platforms such as Active Directory, Entra ID, IAM, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls.
• Familiarity with privileged access management concepts and tools, including credential vaulting, session controls, remote access workflows, and approval-based access.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices in enterprise environments, including patching, vulnerability management, access control, and compliance support.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, test, and improve backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Clear, disciplined approach to documentation, operational standards, change management, and process consistency.
• Flexibility to participate in meetings and collaborate across global time zones.
• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion for project implementation, site support, or training.
• Availability to participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical systems outside standard business hours.
Nice to have:
• Relevant certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), VMware VCP, CCNA or equivalent.
• Experience with ITIL or formal change management frameworks.
• Exposure to SIEM, endpoint detection and response tools, or zero-trust architecture.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the OT Senior Systems Engineer position is $100,000 annually [or $48.08 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Service Delivery Manager position is $110,000 annually [or $52.89 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
