Job DescriptionWeare looking for a dexterous oral surgeon to perform surgeries onpatients who require specialist orofacial procedures. Yourresponsibilities will include consulting with patients, discussingtreatment options, treating patients, overseeing aftercare, andcoordinating with other specialists, when necessary.
Tobe successful as an oral surgeon, you must have experience workingwith various orofacial defects, such as cleft palates and cleft lips,in order to provide effective surgical treatment and care.
Oral Surgeon Responsibilities:- Consulting withpatients and analyzing patient data to determine patient needs andtreatment goals.
- Collaboratingwith other specialists, such as restorative dentists andorthodontists, to plan treatments.
- Recordingpatient care by maintaining detailed notes of appointments withpatients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed,and test results.
- Administeringgeneral and local anesthetics, when necessary.
- Performingsurgical procedures to extract impacted or damaged teeth, placedental implants, and remove tumors and other abnormal growths of theoral and/or facial regions.
- Prescribingmedication to improve recovery and control pain after procedures.
- Treatinginfections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaw, face, and neck.
- Providingemergency treatment of orofacial injuries including faciallacerations, intraoral lacerations, and fractured facial bones.
- Performingminor cosmetic procedures, such as chin and cheekbone enhancements.
- Providingsupport and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
- Conducting research on defects,diseases, and disorders affecting the oral and/or facial regions.
Requirements- Bachelor'sdegree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- Doctor ofMedical Dentistry (DMD) degree or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
- Licensed topractice as an Oral Surgeon.
- Exceptionalattention to detail.
