Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Oracle Engineered Systems Administrator provides comprehensive database management support related to the global customer IT environment.
Responsibilities:
- You will also lead operational support for Oracle engineered systems (Exadata), including standby builds, Secure Shell (SSH) key management, automation and cloud migration activities.
- This position provides engineering-level support for all Oracle databases, especially those integrated with the Customer Consolidated Database (CCD) and related databases, as well as databases supporting both legacy and modernized client/server and web-based applications.
- You will support modernized databases and assist with modernization initiatives.
- This position will provide backup service engineering for customer servers, systems, and data centers, including redundant off-site backup storage, integrity checks, and audit processes.
- Backup and restoration infrastructure shall utilize modern platforms (e.g., Dell EMC Data Domain, Oracle ZDLRA) and comply with industry best practices for data protection.
- In support of active deployment, you will perform necessary operating system configuration and security fixes, software application installations and upgrades, security patches, one-off application/security deployments, and Oracle database changes.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following are the education and experience required for this position:
- 8+ years
- Bachelor's in IT or related field
- Oracle Certified Professional
- Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Comp TIA Sec+, ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:
