Join Our Team as an Operations Technician – Millwright at Johnson Electric!

Location: Ancaster, ON (onsite)
Salary Range: $42.21 to 47.24 per hour
Vacancy Type: Existing Position
Schedule: Continental 12-hour rotating day and night shifts

As our next Operations Technician – Millwright, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. Your expertise in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment reliability will play a critical role in supporting production performance and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, pneumatic actuators, electric actuators, motors, gears, hydraulics, mechanical drives, speed reducers, and related equipment
• Diagnose equipment failures and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions
• Interpret operating and maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Coordinate and supervise contractor activities while ensuring compliance with maintenance standards and industry best practices
• Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and perform root cause troubleshooting
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities for special projects
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities, equipment history, and work orders
• Perform welding, pipefitting, rigging, and related maintenance tasks as required
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, quality requirements, and applicable codes
• Support compliance with Quality Management Systems, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability and plant performance

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Certificate of Apprenticeship
• Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in good standing
• 3–5 years of practical industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with industrial mechanical systems and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and O&M manuals
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments
• Experience using CMMS or EAM maintenance systems
• Welding, pipefitting, and rigging experience
• Experience supporting equipment installations and capital projects
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Microsoft Office proficiency
