Full Job Description
The duties of an Operations Manager include formulating operational strategy to meet the growth initiatives of the company, improving performance and effectiveness of site operations, ensuring compliance to regulatory and company requirements, procuring material, personnel and equipment, maintain profitability to budget, provide administrative support to management such as capacity planning and performance reports on the status of manufacturing, participate in pricing and other customer strategy, mentor and develop team members, direct continuous improvements, safety and 5S, and ensure product quality and customer service using best company practices across all levels related to the manufacture of labels and similar manufactured components.

Summary of essential job functions:

  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company's overall goals.
  • Coordinating different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.
  • Assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
  • Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other senior managers about company priorities and projects.
  • Identifying potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course in order to take advantage of changes in the market or customer needs.
  • Provide timely reports on operational metrics such as delivery, inventory, manufacturing efficiency, safety,
  • Participate in pricing for new customers and projects
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory and company policies involving safety, environmental compliance, sustainability projects and other operational activities as required.
  • Manage consumable suppliers and supply chain partners
  • Direct scheduling order planning and procurement
  • Direct equipment maintenance and support
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring of manufacturing staff
  • Responsible for manufacturing staff development, performance reviews and outcomes

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, or related technical field.

Minimum requirements:

20 years of experience within paper and printing industry

8 years of supervisory experience

Abilities required:

Strategic and tactical thinking skills. Solid interpersonal and communication skills - communicate with both executives and staff employees in order to create and administer policy. Problem solving skills. A thorough understanding of financial statements and budgeting principles and practices to manage company earnings and spending in order to find areas of improvement. Strong personal and professional judgement and ethics which are invaluable skills for a role that makes hiring decisions as well as in finding the best solution to organizational dilemmas. Organizational and project management skills to provide leadership for efficient operations and flexibility for dynamic environment of changing priorities, which are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects.

Salary Range $145,000-160,000
