Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various construction agreements including CCDC contracts and EPCMs

  • Provide counsel on outsourcing, supply chain, and technology agreements
  • Guide procurement processes including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, addressing related contract disputes

Full Job Description
To keep pace with our continued growth, we are in need of a Construction Lawyer, ideally with large firm and/or in-house experience.

As a Caravel Construction Lawyer, You will:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including CCDC contracts, EPCMs, engineering services agreements, and other complex construction and development contracts.
  • Advise on legal risk, project structuring, procurement strategy (including open RFPs), and execution across the full project lifecycle-from pre-development to post-construction.
  • Advise and negotiate P3/infrastructure agreements, including concession, design-build-finance-maintain, and operations contracts.
  • Advise and negotiate with outsourcing, supply chain, technology supply and licensing agreements and cloud services agreements, as well as supply chain/procurement processes and issues including RFT's, RFPs, RFIs and RFQs and contract disputes related to such processes would be considered an asset

What would YOU Bring:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of practical related in house and/or private practice experience in Construction.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Experience with lien payments, bonding issues, disputes and questions relating to compliance with contractual requirements would be an asset.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
