Run One Major Project, Start to FinishWe're staffing a large, multi-phase commercial interiors project in Baton Rouge, LA, and we need a Project Manager who will be on the job every day instead of managing it from a distance. You'll be the single point of ownership for the project's schedule, budget, and financial results, and the go-to contact for the general contractor, the design team, our field leadership, and the trades working around us. If you're a subcontractor-side PM who makes sound calls quickly and would rather be in the building than behind a desk, this one is built for you.
Your Day-to-DayEvery phase runs through you, from preconstruction to final close-out. You'll take the estimate handoff, review the contract and scope, and lead material buyout, then build the schedule, sequence the phases, and keep a close watch on cost as the work unfolds. Much of your time goes to coordination: heading off trade conflicts before they turn into delays, keeping the GC and architects informed, and making sure superintendents and foremen have the materials, manpower, and information to keep production moving.
Specifically, you'll:- Walk the site each day with your superintendents and foremen, tracking progress and resolving field issues as they come up
- Line up crews, deliveries, and site access ahead of each new phase so transitions happen without lost time
- Manage the money side: schedules of values, monthly pay apps, job cost reporting, and cost-to-complete forecasts that keep margin intact
- Get change orders priced, negotiated, documented, and collected so no extra work goes unpaid
- Catch threats to the job early, whether that's a manpower shortage, a long-lead material, a compressed schedule, or a gap in scope, and have a response ready
- Maintain an organized project record covering RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily logs, and close-out documents
- Enforce company safety and quality standards on site
- Mentor and grow the assistant project managers on your team
What You BringYou've spent four or more years managing commercial construction projects, including hands-on work with metal framing and drywall scopes. Subcontractor-side PM experience is strongly preferred, and time on large or multi-phase jobs will set you apart. Exposure to ceilings, finishes, or Division 8 and 10 Specialties is a bonus. You read plans and specifications confidently, know your way around a subcontract, and can manage cost and billing for the life of a job. We use Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, and QuickBid, but comparable PM, takeoff, or estimating software experience works fine and we'll get you up to speed on our systems.
Just as important:- You communicate plainly and directly with GCs, designers, and the field
- You lead crews and keep them accountable while keeping them motivated
- You stay level when plans shift, which in interiors happens constantly
- You understand that how we treat the GC on this job decides whether we get the next one
What We OfferCompetitive pay, a full benefits package, steady work on major commercial projects, and real room to grow. We fill from within, and our PMs have a defined path to senior project management and operations leadership.
