Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

  • Conducts initial evaluations on assigned inpatients within 24 working hours of receipt of order, ensuring they are completed within 48 hours
  • Performs initial evaluations for newly referred patients by administering appropriate standardized and functional tools and assessments based on standard occupational therapy practices. Documents evaluations in objective and measurable terms for the baseline data regarding those factors which OT intervention is expected to improve
  • Develops an individualized patient treatment plan based on the information obtained from the initial evaluation, including procedures to be used, treatment objectives, frequency of patient visits, goals including time frames
  • Re-assesses the patient's progress and revises the treatment plan on a bi-weekly basis or sooner
  • Completes documentation in the patient's chart which includes the subjective and objective responses and any anticipated changes in the treatment plan. Reviews patient care plan daily and adjusts it appropriately
  • Administers treatment modalities and procedures correctly and appropriately

Required

  • Graduate of a school of occupational therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association., upon hire
  • Occupational Therapist: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (Must be through the American Heart Association)

Preferred

  • Occupational Therapists providingindependent case coverage in Pediatrics will have a minimum of 1 year pediatricexperience., upon hire
