Location: Melbourne, FL

Years' Experience: 6+

Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.

Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute obsolescence analysis and remediation planning for existing ground-based systems supporting operational satellite networks.
  • Analyze complex networked systems to identify root causes, dependencies, technical constraints, and viable remediation paths.
  • Perform technical analysis, system design, and architectural evaluation to resolve obsolescence issues across integrated hardware, software, processing, and networking environments.
  • Develop effective and efficient solutions for obsolescence problems that balance mission impact, technical performance, cybersecurity, sustainment, cost, and schedule considerations.
  • Make strategic recommendations and remediation decisions in coordination with engineering, supply chain, program management, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate analysis results and remediation decisions to internal and external stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and technical rigor.
  • Prepare engineering technical scope, estimates of cost and schedules for remediation activities that define the path forward through completion of implementation.
  • Coordinate with system engineers, network engineers, software teams, suppliers, and program leadership in support of mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor component and system lifecycle status through manufacturer notices, coordinate software and hardware support for lifecycle maintenance, and identify supply chain risks.
  • Support change management, configuration control, documentation updates, and verification activities related to remediation implementation.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of obsolescence and lifecycle management processes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in obsolescence management, DMSMS, lifecycle sustainment, or systems engineering.
  • Experience in technical remediation planning.
  • Experience analyzing and supporting complex ground-based or networked systems.
  • Experience performing system-level analysis, design evaluation, and architecture trade studies for technical problem resolution.
  • Experience developing remediation plans for hardware, software, networking, or processing systems in operational environments.
  • Experience preparing engineering estimates for labor, cost, and schedule.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in environments with competing technical, schedule, and cost priorities.
