Description OBGYN Nursing Service Navigator - Full -Time
A Brief Overview The OBGYN Nursing Services Navigator will be supporting multiple practices and locations across the OBGYN network. This role is responsible for coordinating, prioritizing, and supervising patient calls and clinical messages to ensure timely, consistent, safe, and patient-centered care. Working collaboratively with OB/GYN providers, practice leadership, medical assistants, and administrative teams, this role will serve as a clinical resource for complex patient concerns and help to establish standardized triage processes across the network. The ideal candidate is an experienced OB/GYN nurse with triage experience, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate care across multiple locations while maintaining high standards for patient safety and service.
What you will do - Oversees patient call and clinical message workflows across multiple OB/GYN practices and locations, ensuring concerns are appropriately prioritized, routed, and addressed in a timely, consistent, and patient-centered manner
- Performs nursing triage through telephone and electronic communication, assessing patient-reported symptoms and concerns, identifying clinical needs, and determining appropriate next steps within established protocols and the nursing scope of practice
- Recognizes and escalates urgent or complex clinical concerns to the appropriate provider or level of care, facilitating timely intervention and clear communication to support patient safety
- Serves as a clinical resource for providers and practice teams, assisting with complex patient concerns, triage questions, and care coordination needs across the OB/GYN network
- Coordinates patient care and follow-up with providers, practice leadership, medical assistants, and administrative teams, facilitating appointments, provider-directed testing, referrals, and handoffs between locations
- Provides patient education and guidance regarding provider-directed care plans, symptom monitoring, follow-up instructions, and access to care, using clear communication tailored to patient needs and understanding
- Supports the development and implementation of standardized triage processes, clinical message workflows, documentation practices, and escalation procedures, helping practice teams apply these standards consistently across the network
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, patient communications, guidance provided, provider consultations, escalations, and follow-up actions in the electronic health record
- Monitors outstanding clinical messages and unresolved patient concerns, addressing communication gaps and delays, confirming appropriate follow-through, and partnering with practice leadership to improve patient safety, responsiveness, and service
Education Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required
- BSN, preferred
Experience Qualifications A minimum of five years' experience in OBGYN nursing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Must have basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Licenses and Certifications - RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure, Valid NJ RN state licensure. Upon Hire, required
- Maintaining Continuing Education Credits, Upon Hire, required
