Job DescriptionThis position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Nursing Directors are not in the hospital. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Department
EducationCollege Diploma Nursing Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Bachelors Nursing Preferred
Experience5 Years Healthcare/Medical - Nursing General
Two years demonstrated in leadership responsibilities preferred.
Certification & LicensuresRN license in VA
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
QualificationsKnowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served.
