Nursing DirectorSouth Philadelphia, PAAbout the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced
Director of Health & Safety to lead health, nutrition, and safety services within our Early Head Start (EHS) program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the well-being of children, families, and staff while maintaining compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and PA Department of Human Services regulations. Enjoy Mission-driven work supporting children and families. There is no direct patient care. Regular daytime schedule, no OT requirements.
(For the first 3 months, this role will be fully onsite before transitioning into a hybrid work schedule)What You'll Do- Lead health, safety, and nutrition services across multiple EHS locations
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations
- Partner with leadership to drive program strategy and quality outcomes
- Support and train staff on health and safety practices
- Oversee health and nutrition staff and external consultants
- Oversight of immunization compliance, health records, screenings, and growth monitoring
- Conduct site visits and health & safety assessments
- Prepare reports and ensure timely completion of required documentation
- Lead Health Services Advisory Committee meetings
- Ensure CACFP and ServSafe compliance
- Collaboration with families, healthcare providers, and program staff
What We're Looking For• Active
Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• 5+ years of experience with prenatal, infants, or children under 3 (preferred)
• 3+ years of supervisory experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of early childhood health, safety, and family services
• Experience with program monitoring, compliance, and staff training
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to travel locally (Montgomery County & Philadelphia)
Additional Requirements- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within 90 days
- Comfortable working both onsite and remotely
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
