We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Nurse Practitioner to execute the following job duties with our inpatient Hepatology population.
Essential Duties:
- As an Inpatient Hepatology Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the work up and care for the patients in the Hepatology Program, throughout the continuum of services - from initial referral to follow up care.
- The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative and acute care through discharge.
- You will support the physician on service and serve as the clinical liaison between Medicine/Hepatology consultation service and the Liver Transplant Program: these inpatient consultations include pre-liver transplant evaluations, post-liver transplant management, and general hepatology services.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver flawless care to patients in the Hepatology department.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and effectively communicate them to patients and their families.
- Perform procedures such as liver biopsies, paracentesis, and ascitic fluid analysis.
- Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
- Actively participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to advance patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.

QualificationsEducation:
- Master's of Nursing Degree (MSN) required
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
License/Certification:
- Current California Nurse Practitioner
- Current California Furnishing License required
- National certification as an NP required
- California RN License required
- Current BLS certification required
- DEA license required (schedule 2-5) required
Experience:
- Three (3) years of RN experience in acute care preferred
- Nurse Practitioner with liver disease experience preferred
