Responsibilities Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Medicine is seeking a Nurse Manager-- $10,000 Sign-on Bonus -- Reporting to the
Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and clinical oversight of an assigned inpatient behavioral health or substance use treatment unit. The Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care by directing nursing operations, developing staff, monitoring regulatory compliance, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
The Nurse Manager serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and resource for nursing staff while collaborating with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes. This position is accountable for staffing, employee engagement, clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
What You'll DoClinical Leadership- Provide leadership and oversight of daily nursing operations within an assigned behavioral health or chemical dependency program.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality psychiatric nursing care consistent with evidence-based practices and professional standards.
- Support assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care across all levels of service.
- Partner with physicians and the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate patient care and treatment goals.
- Promote a culture of safety, compassion, recovery, and patient-centered care.
Team Development & Staff Engagement- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop nursing staff and unit leaders.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support employee growth and professional development.
- Foster a positive work environment that recognizes achievements and promotes accountability, collaboration, and engagement.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, productivity management, and workforce planning.
Operations & Quality- Develop, implement, and evaluate department policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, incident reporting, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission (TJC), and state requirements.
- Participate in audits, investigations, risk management activities, and quality assurance processes.
- Support regulatory readiness and continuous survey preparedness.
Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance- Ensure patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical standards are upheld.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, observation requirements, documentation standards, and unit procedures.
- Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for operational and clinical improvements.

Qualifications QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing MSN preferred.
Licensure- Active and unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Experience- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience required.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, or management experience preferred.
- Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use treatment experience strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements- CPI/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training (or ability to obtain during orientation).
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain during orientation).
- Skilled at building relationships, coaching staff, driving accountability, and creating an environment where both patients and employees thrive.
