While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.DESCRIPTIONThe Service Line Leader provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the Otolaryngology service line across the health system. Working in partnership with physician leadership, nursing leadership, and executive administration, this position develops and executes strategies to improve growth, patient access, quality, operational performance, financial stewardship, and patient experience across all ENT specialty programs.
The Service Line Leader provides oversight of practice operations while leading long-term strategic planning, program development, market expansion, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Strategic Leadership- Develop and implement strategic plans supporting growth of Otolaryngology services.
- Identify opportunities for new clinical programs, market expansion, and service development.
- Lead business planning and implementation of new initiatives.
Operational Oversight- Provide oversight of practice managers and operational leaders.
- Establish operational goals and monitor key performance indicators.
- Standardize workflows across multiple locations.
Financial Leadership- Develop operating budgets.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, productivity, access metrics, and financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and margin.
Physician Partnership- Partner with Department Chair, Medical Directors, Division Chiefs, and faculty leadership.
- Support physician recruitment, onboarding, and practice growth.
- Collaborate on faculty practice operations.
Access & Growth- Improve access to care across all subspecialties.
- Lead referral optimization initiatives.
- Expand regional access and community partnerships.
Quality- Support quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Leadership- Mentor managers and supervisors.
- Lead cross-functional teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification at the time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible healthcare experience, including at least five years of recent Ambulatory nursing experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in a charge nurse, supervisor, manager, or equivalent role.
- Demonstrated experience leading clinical operations, staff development, and performance management in ambulatory care settings.
- Strong knowledge of oncology clinic and infusion center operations, including staffing, workflow optimization, patient access, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing interdisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards, quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Effective problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex operations in a dynamic healthcare environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $154,200 - $306,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $73.85 - $146.84
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
