NEURO ICU 7 DCT at
Duke University Hospital is comprised of a
35-bed state of art attached to the Level 1 Trauma Center. Our Duke Neuro ICU achieved Stroke Gold Plus and Honor Roll Elite Plus recognition from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for 'Get with the Guidelines-Stroke' and 'Target: Stroke'. This is an award for having the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment guidelines to improve patient care and outcomes in the community we serve. Our team is active in delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience, every time.
Work Hours & Shifts:Full Time: 24 hour Responsibility (1.0 FTE - 40 hour per week, coverage per operational needs)Job Summary:Manage and supervise functions of assigned patient care area on a 24 hour basis; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:• 3 years of nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:• Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
• BLS (or higher) certification required.
• Professional specialty certification (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MSN preferred
- Prior Neuro ICU experience in Level I Trauma center
- Prior leadership role with excellent communication skills
- Expertise with Acuity adaptable rooms.
