Position SummaryCHDI Foundation is expanding its neuroimaging analytics capabilities to accelerate the development of imaging biomarkers for Huntington's disease (HD). We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with expertise in MRI and/or PET data analytics, quantitative image processing, and applied deep learning. This position will design and implement advanced data management pipelines, algorithm development, and artificial intelligence (AI) methods for structural and quantitative MRI, and PET imaging. The scientist will oversee data handling, algorithm development, and quantitative analysis across imaging modalities to establish analysis-ready datasets for integration into CHDI's neuroimaging studies and biomarker development strategies. The successful candidate will build reproducible pipelines, and deploy novel and AI-driven approaches to improve biomarker discovery, harmonization, and predictive modeling across multi-site datasets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage robust data pipelines for MRI and PET data ingestion, curation, de-identification, BIDS conversion, and QC across imaging studies and study sites.
- Implement and optimize software, algorithms, DL and AI based tools for:
- Structural and quantitative MRI brain segmentation, tissue classification, image harmonization, denoising, and anomaly detection.
- Dynamic and multi-dimensional imaging data handling, 4D data analysis.
- Parametric and kinetic modeling of PET data for tracer quantification (SUVR, DVR, binding potential, and dynamic data modeling)
- Predictive modeling and biomarker extraction using machine learning and deep neural networks (CNNs, 3D U-Nets, etc.).
- Develop algorithms for cross-modality data fusion and multi-site harmonization.
- Collaborate with site investigators and CHDI's data management and biomarker teams to establish scalable data transfer and analysis workflows.
- Prepare data documentation, technical reports, visualizations, and presentations for internal reviews, publications, and external collaborations.
Qualifications- M.S. or B.A. in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Neuroscience, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical imaging data analysis, including image reconstruction, segmentation, registration, and quantitative image analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and/or R; with programming and AI/ML expertise; experience with AI/deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
- Experience with neuroimaging software packages (FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM, ANTs, PMOD, Nipype) and data standards (DICOM, BIDS, etc.).
- Strong background in machine learning, image processing; algorithm development.
- Proven ability to manage and analyze large, multi-site imaging datasets, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
- Experience applying AI/DL for neuroimaging, including segmentation, harmonization, or anomaly detection.
