Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our full-time Neuro Hospitalist, you will join the prestigious CommonSpirit Memorial Neuroscience Institute at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Every day you will contribute to one of the largest and most organized neurology referral networks in the US, working within a highly collegial Institute of Neuroscience that encompasses neurohospitalist, neuro interventional, and neurosurgery components. This role involves a 7-on/7-off schedule shared between two expert teams: one dedicated to general neurology, epilepsy management, and EEG reading, and another focused on acute stroke management. By joining our team, you will co-direct the national Neuroscience collaborative for CommonSpirit Health—the second-largest healthcare system in the country—and benefit from tight collaborations with partners like Baylor St. Luke’s and the Barrow Neurological Institute.
To be successful in this role, you will be a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Neurologist, preferably with fellowship training in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert inpatient neurological care, with a specialized focus on epilepsy management and EEG interpretation.
- Collaborating with the general neurology team to manage a high volume of complex epilepsy and neurological cases.
- Coordinating care with the stroke management team to ensure seamless patient transitions and outcomes.
- Utilizing exceptional clinical research support through the Chattanooga Center for Neurologic Research, a world leader in the execution of acute stroke research including artificial intelligence, device, stem cell and other pharma clinical trails, and the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation, a private Chattanooga-based non-profit.
- Participating in Academic & Growth Opportunities, including teaching and/or research on a local, regional, or national level.
- Fostering strong collaborations on clinical and research protocols nationally through our direct tie to CommonSpirit Health.
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records and adhering to the highest standards of neurological care.
- Engaging in multidisciplinary case conferences to optimize treatment for complex neurological patients.

Job Requirements
Required
- MD or DO degree
- Board-eligible/Board-certified in Neurology
- Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Tennessee
- Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications
Preferred
- Fellowship training in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology
