Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute network designs, expansions, and enhancements to support business needs
- Configure, install, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
- Implement and manage network segmentation, VLANs, and IP address allocation
- Proactively monitor network performance, uptime, and security using network monitoring tools
- Ensure maximum network reliability and availability by identifying and resolving issues promptly
- Conduct regular performance tuning, adjustments, and maintenance to ensure the optimal operation of the network
- Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances
- Collaborate with IT Security teams to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices
- Perform regular security risk assessments and system penetration testing
- Provide Level 2/3 support for network-related incidents and escalate complex issues as needed
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring technical incidents
- Document solutions, create standard operating procedures, and maintain network topology diagrams
- Partner with cross-functional IT teams to identify and deploy cybersecurity and networking solutions
- Support project teams with network infrastructure planning for new applications and services
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 4 years of experience may replace a completed degree
- 2 years of Proven experience as a Network Engineer, or in a similar role
- Proficiency in configuring, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios)
- Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and advanced network security practices
- Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid network environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent
- Experience implementing SD-WAN solutions
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Shell scripts, Ansible) for network automation
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and experience working in ITIL-driven environments
