What you’ll be doing...
As a Engineer I Network Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for the front-line monitoring of the next generation of network elements by performing surveillance and repair of the various Verizon infrastructure networks. As a part of a highly visible team, you are accountable for ensuring high network availability and attainment of service levels. The team operates in a round the clock environment to provide continuous management and support of Verizon's network.
- Providing tactical strategy and direction for all outage and impacting network events.
- Working with various network teams, third party telcos to determine the cause of network alarms.
- Working on technical bridges to determine the origin of network alarms, which network equipment is impacted, and determine which network department or third party telco the ticket should be referred to for further triage.
- Operating as an escalation facilitator.
- Working with the Associate Director or Supervisor to determine root cause analysis of outages and major network events.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of relevant work experience.
- One or more years of relevant work experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Willingness to work rotating schedule (shifts) including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Operations experience.
- Technical knowledge of network equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP and other LAN/WAN protocols.
- Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G and 10G native Ethernet and Ethernet Backhaul.
- Knowledge of Ericsson 4G LTE and/or 5G network elements.
- Experience in Ciena and Cisco routers

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $64,000.00 - $115,000.00.
