Full Job Description
NetSuite Administrator

The Townsend Company, LLC
Indianapolis, IN | Hybrid | Full-Time
Anticipated Base Salary: $120,000-$145,000

This is more than a traditional NetSuite Administrator role.

The Townsend Company is looking for an experienced NetSuite Administrator to play an important role in our NetSuite reimplementation and become a key internal owner of the platform as we continue to grow.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape how NetSuite supports the business-not simply maintain an existing system. Working closely with Accounting, Operations, IT, and external implementation partners, you'll help improve processes, strengthen reporting and controls, support data migration and integrations, and build scalable solutions that can grow with the organization.

If you enjoy combining hands-on NetSuite administration with business partnership, problem-solving, and process improvement, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Do

NetSuite Administration & Support
  • Serve as a key internal resource for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of the NetSuite environment.
  • Manage users, roles, permissions, workflows, saved searches, reports, dashboards, custom fields, records, and core system configurations.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate vendor escalations when necessary.
  • Monitor system health, data quality, security, integrations, and recurring operational issues.
  • Conduct periodic security and access reviews.

NetSuite Reimplementation & Data Migration
  • Play an active role in Townsend's NetSuite reimplementation and help support the organization through implementation, stabilization, and ongoing optimization.
  • Support data extraction, mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Partner with external implementation resources during data migration, testing, issue resolution, and deployment.
  • Assist with sandbox testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live, and cutover activities.
  • Support knowledge transfer from external partners and help establish strong internal ownership of the system following implementation.

Business Partnership & Process Improvement
  • Work closely with Accounting and Operations, as well as Finance, Procurement, and IT, to understand business needs and translate them into practical NetSuite solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, controls, and business processes.
  • Support processes related to job costing, project accounting, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, period close, and management reporting.
  • Help ensure NetSuite solutions are practical, maintainable, and scalable as Townsend continues to grow.

Reporting, Integrations & System Enhancements
  • Develop and maintain SuiteAnalytics reports, dashboards, KPIs, workflows, and approval routing.
  • Leverage SuiteScript for workflow automation where appropriate.
  • Support small-to-mid-sized integrations and data exchanges between NetSuite and third-party systems, including CSV imports/exports, middleware, RESTlets, and APIs.
  • Participate in system enhancement design, testing, validation, documentation, release readiness, and deployment.
  • Help establish governance around system access, master data, enhancements, testing, approvals, and change control.
  • Maintain user documentation, training materials, change logs, and an ongoing improvement roadmap.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration, implementation, or production-support experience.
  • Experience supporting a full-cycle NetSuite implementation or major data migration.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, SuiteAnalytics, custom fields and records, CSV imports, sandbox testing, and releases.
  • Working knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, period close, reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across Accounting, Operations, Finance, and IT.
Preferred Experience
  • NetSuite Administrator and/or SuiteFoundation certification.
  • Additional NetSuite certifications, including Financial or BI & Reporting.
  • SuiteScript-based customizations and workflow/approval automation.
  • RESTlets, APIs, or middleware-based integrations.
  • NetSuite OneWorld and multi-subsidiary environments.
  • Job costing, project accounting, procurement, integrations, or data conversion.
  • Power BI or SQL exposure.
  • Experience within field services, construction, utility services, manufacturing, or another project-based environment.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year
