Full Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and writing new global non-destructive testing (NDE) procedures. Supporting Flowserve sites with NDE questions and answering external customer questions requiring NDE expertise. Ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and Flowserve's quality requirements.


PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Maintaining and writing global NDE Procedures, acceptance criteria, and techniques.


  • Standardize High-Quality NDE operations across Flowserve's various manufacturing locations.


  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and customer specifications governing NDE processes and procedures.


  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality control teams to resolve any NDE-related issues or discrepancies identified and escalated to the GES Materials team.


  • Provide training and guidance to personnel involved in NDE activities to enhance their skills, knowledge, and proficiency in NDE techniques and procedures.


  • Operate as the global NDE Certification Authority.


  • Stay abreast of industry developments, advancements in NDE technology, and changes in regulatory requirements related to NDE practices.


  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations governing NDE operations to ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and the work environment.


  • Promote a culture of safety awareness, hazard identification, and risk mitigation across the organization.


  • Supporting escalated Vendor NDE Quality concerns that require a subject matter expert to review.


  • Supporting escalated Customer NDE Quality concerns that require a subject matter expert to review.


SECONDARY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Operate as a support function to NDE personnel conducting inspections of incoming materials, fabricated components, and finished products to verify conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.


  • Operate as a support function to NDE personnel performing various NDE techniques, such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), radiographic testing (RT), and visual inspection (VT), to detect and evaluate defects, flaws, or abnormalities in materials and components.


  • Operate as a support function to NDE personnel interpreting NDE results and data to determine the presence, size, location, and severity of defects, and make recommendations for further evaluation or corrective action as needed.


  • Supporting the enterprise when Vendor NDE Procedure Reviews are required by an NDE Level III.


  • Supporting quality audit team on Vendor NDE Program Reviews where subject matter expertise or documentation review is requested.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum Certification of Level III in the NDE methods of radiographic testing (RT) and ultrasonic testing (UT). (e.g., ASNT Level III certification)


  • Minimum Certification of Level III in 2 of the 3 following NDE methods (Magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), and visual inspection (VT) with willingness to move up to Level III in the method not already certified at Level III. (e.g., ASNT Level III certification).


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in NDE inspection, quality assurance, or related field, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.


  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to accurately evaluate and interpret NDE results.


  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly and concisely.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field (preferred)


  • Nuclear Industry Experience


  • ANDE-1 Certification
