Full Job Description
Leidos' Defense Systems is seeking a talented Navigation, Guidance, Control SME Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). The CHGB is the Army's #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct non-conformances investigations
  • Troubleshoot test equipment and unit under test
  • Work through root cause corrective action
  • Assist in requirement decomposition


Basic Qualifications:
  • A BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 4+ years of relevant experience (or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree) or a MS in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be capable of reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, cable/wiring diagrams, and the corresponding work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide valuable feedback to program leadership
  • Familiarity with requirement decomposition
  • Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration
  • Experience in electronics integration, test, and troubleshooting
  • Must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods including the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.
  • Knowledge of test procedure development
  • Knowledge of post test data processing
  • Knowledge of environmental testing
  • Knowledge of circuit design - analog, digital, power
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of the avionics
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience in effectively communicating within a team environment, which will include test and manufacturing engineers.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience with manufacturing and production of avionics components
  • Knowledge of test development to support troubleshooting hardware failures
  • Knowledge of National Instruments Software
  • Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment
  • Knowledge of ASME and IEEE standards
  • Experience supporting DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or hypersonic technologies
  • Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or fast-paced engineering programs.

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
