The Middle School Learning Specialist will bring a passion for the goal of HCZ Promise Academy: to get all our scholars to and through college. The ideal candidate cares deeply about children, respects the culture of Harlem's residents, and is eager to make an impact in our community and beyond.

Teacher Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 10-month school year with optional summer opportunities for additional pay

Requirements

Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6, Grades 5-9 or 7-12 or All grades)
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in an urban school setting


What you'll do
  • Provide individualized and inclusive instruction through Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS).

Teachers receive a personal laptop, Smartboards, and tablets; bi-weekly professional development; and the support of a team of academic coaches, deans, guidance counselors, and social workers who are committed to ensuring the success of all our scholars.

The Special Education Teacher salary ranges from $71,268 - $145,714. Salaries are determined based on years of relevant experience, certification, and education level.
