Job Description
The Software Engineer position will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting our NASA Aircraft Management Information System (NAMIS) applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a small team and independently, is passionate about coding, has strong attention to detail, and can learn new technologies rapidly and efficiently.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities
• Full life-cycle software development, including requirements analysis, software architecture, design, coding, unit testing, and integration.
• Assist with the development, maintenance, support, and documentation of existing software applications, engaging users as necessary.
• Update software documentation, including requirements, design, and help files, as needed.
• Create and assist with test procedures to ensure software system requirements are met.
• Learn new technologies and skills required to complete projects.
• Interact with software developers, testers, management, and users to accomplish project tasks.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, ASP, and current versions of Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
• Experience using TFS/Azure DevOps for code repositories and work items.
• Experience with Single Page Applications (SPAs), such as Angular and Blazor.
• Experience writing unit tests and using mock frameworks.
• Experience with relational database development using MS SQL Server, stored procedures, and MS Reporting Services.
• Working knowledge of Web Services, .NET Framework, and applications.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and work independently.
• Understands standard software development lifecycle processes and applies our methodology effectively.
o Adheres to coding standards defined by technical management.
• Ability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
• Attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills
• Hands-on experience using DevOps Server for the software delivery pipeline.
• Experience with UI development.
• Experience with legacy applications using Classic ASP.
• Experience with API development and tools such as Swagger and Postman.
• Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (required).
