Position Title: Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate
A nationally recognized labor and employment law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate to represent employers in sophisticated workplace disputes throughout Washington and the Pacific Northwest. This role will manage employment litigation through multiple stages while handling pleadings, discovery, substantive motions, agency proceedings, legal research, and strategic case development.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of litigation experience defending employers and is prepared to take meaningful ownership of complex matters. They bring strong written advocacy, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work strategically with both colleagues and clients.
Salary: $215,000 / annually
Responsibilities - Manage employment litigation matters through multiple stages of a case
- Defend employers in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, restrictive covenants, and wage and hour claims
- Draft pleadings, written discovery, substantive and dispositive motions, and other litigation filings
- Prepare responses and position statements for administrative agency proceedings
- Conduct legal research and develop clear, persuasive written advocacy
- Take and defend depositions
- Work strategically with colleagues and clients to evaluate risk and develop practical solutions
Requirements - 4+ years of litigation experience
- Experience defending employers in employment-related disputes
- Strong experience with pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and depositions
- Experience with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, restrictive covenant, or wage and hour matters
- Experience counseling employers on workplace policies, compliance, and day-to-day employment matters is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials with strong writing and analytical skills
- Active Washington Bar membership
