Full Job Description

Join a highly skilled Amentum engineering team supporting the design, testing, and evaluation of trusted, radiation‑hardened microelectronic components used in strategic DoW systems. In this role, you’ll build test solutions from the ground up—spanning hardware design, circuit development, automated test programming, data review, and customer engagement. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy creative problem‑solving, hands‑on testing, and guiding components through rigorous qualification cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical test methods for high‑reliability, radiation‑hardened and trusted microelectronic components used across DoW strategic systems.
  • Create complete test packages, including test interface hardware, circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and automated test equipment (ATE) control software.
  • Design, simulate, and evaluate test circuits for characterization and performance validation.
  • Design and develop printed circuit boards and automated test programs.
  • Collect test data, support reviews, and contribute sections of analysis and engineering design reviews.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, documentation, and correspondence.
  • Track project development status and ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with customers during design reviews and technical working groups to ensure alignment with requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience with microelectronics or electronic components.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, meters, and analyzers.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functional areas in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn from senior engineers and contribute as a team player.
  • Understanding of microelectronics concepts, theories, structures, and material properties.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required; interim clearance required to start).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing microelectronic components.
  • Experience with EDA tools such as Altium, Eagle, or LTSPICE.
  • Programming experience with Python, C, C++, Visual Basic, git, or LabVIEW.
  • Basic analog or digital design experience for circuit boards or ASICs.
  • Understanding of noise sources and repeatable measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with microelectronic fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Active Secret or Top‑Secret clearance.
