Position SummaryStrategizes on effective communication solutions for engaging a variety of audiences/stakeholders, including but not limited to customers, employees, news media, etc. Aligns message with brand and maintains corporate image. Collaborates with peers, stakeholders and others to execute communications objectives. Manages a team of communications professionals, facilitating collaboration, initiative and creativity. Ensures accuracy and effectiveness of messaging. Reviews results/outcomes and shares data with team members, peers and others to improve continuously. Trains, mentors and guides temporary employees and interns for the purpose of mutually benefitting the company and the individual.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Develops and manages an integrated public relations and media strategy.
- Creates, edits, and updates communication material involving news releases, publications, social media outreach, research, interviews, media training and spokesperson support, media monitoring and tracking, and other support on special projects and events.
- Develops, maintains and fosters relationships with media partners.
- Maintains regular reporting and collaboration with leadership, peers, team and well as internal stakeholders and Corporate Communications and Marketing team members to initiate and/or execute communications objectives.
- Represents Corporate Communications at internal/external meetings to collaborate and strategize on various projects, initiatives or potential media issues.
- Partners with other corporate communications leadership regarding corporate communication and marketing and strategizes on communications including, but not limited to, public relations, social media, internal materials, etc.
- Adapts to changing requirements of business areas supported and develops new recommendations/solutions as needed.
- Actively supports the efforts of communications leadership team, taking the initiative to identify needs, monitor departmental business plans and budgets, problem solve, and work collaboratively.
- Recruit, hire, onboard and train new employees to the public relations team.
- Provides regular reporting to director, peers, or others, as required.
- Manages and evaluates individual and team performance to include employee development plans (to include SWOTs) for direct reports to ensure knowledge capture, business continuity and effective succession planning.
Minimum SkillsMinimum Knowledge and AbilitiesPrior work experience, with increasing responsibility, in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations.
Prior work experience leading a team of people.
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
Must have favorable driving record.

- Proficiency for reviewing research, data analytics and/or reporting related to customer behaviors, characteristics and expectations to craft work that achieves meaningful results tied to performance metrics.
- Ability to coordinate the production of content for various communications, including broadcast (Radio/Television/Film), digital/social media, print, and/or collateral materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling

Minimum EducationBachelor's degree with a concentration in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field from an accredited university.
Required CertificationsWorking EnvironmentIndoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equip, phone, multi-functioning printer & calculator. Ability to travel to & from meetings, training sessions or other busi-related events.
