Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the HRD, the HR Manager maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, development, needs assessment, and training to ensure employee engagement and high retention.
  • Acts as a resource to department leaders providing HR guidance on employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits and retention.
  • Has the ability to investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Partners with the HRD provide guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for teams and individual coaching needs. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs.
  • Supervises HR staff.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure employee Leaves of Absence are tracked and processed in accordance with facility/company guidelines and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

8 years of continuing advanced responsibilities in Human Resources service disciplines. Healthcare experience strongly preferred. • 3 years management or supervisory experience highly preferred. • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws. • Experience in California wage and hour strongly preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university required.

  • Basic organizational and computer skills.
