Job Description

ESN is currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) 2 to support the Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) team. The team is responsible for execution of correct, complete, reliable, and maintainable software installations and provide training for US Navy shore facilities and afloat units with the MFOM suite of software applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily system administration tasks to make sure maximum system performance availability.
  • Perform installation, maintenance and tuning of server operating systems management of user accounts.
  • Perform installation, maintenance & support of servers' software.
  • Provide operational support and storage environment for servers.
  • Perform periodic software system maintenance backups.
  • Manage and support new technologies as adopted by the business.
  • Provide SPLUNK administration support for Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and provide troubleshooting support for all operating systems, applications and hardware assigned.
  • Provide Organizational Administrator (OA) domain services support and administration as required.
  • Maintain system compliance by ensuring all approved IAVAs, SPs, and patches are installed and configured. This includes maintaining Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementations Guides (STIGs) compliance and reporting.
  • Perform systems backups and recovery procedures. Document all system requirements associated with Disaster Recovery in the systems support documentation. Create and update related server/application documentation including Trusted Recovery Documentation (TRD), Method of Procedures (MOP), user guides and other related training material.
  • Support transition of multiple environments located in a data center to Navy Cloud Broker AWS environments.
  • Work with the customer to help track annual maintenance support of systems, hardware, and software.
  • Work independently and/or in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Occasional after hours work with installations and maintenance.

Experience & Education Requirements:

Education: Technical Training in software maintenance supporting Navy maintenance, logistics, and business systems.

Experience: Ten (10) years of hands-on experience with software maintenance to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Software Maintenance and Sustainment, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in supporting Navy maintenance, logistics, and business systems.

Additional Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required.
  • DoD SECRET Security Clearance or the ability to reactivate a DoD SECRET clearance held within the past 24 months.
