As an
MES Opcenter Solution Architect, you will be primarily responsible for leading the design and implementation of advanced IT systems, influencing IT strategies, and ensuring solutions align with long-term business goals at
Fort Worth, TX. In this role a typical day will include:
- Conduct fit-gap analysis and design solutions based on Opcenter capabilities
- Design and implement MES solutions to support manufacturing operations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Create business cases to highlight the ROI and value proposition of Opcenter MES.
- Develop solution blueprints, data models, workflows, and UI mockups.
- Manage a common MES code base across globally distributed systems to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure project alignment and execution.
- Translate business requirements into MES functional specifications.
- Develop and optimize MES workflows aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISA-95).
- Lead MES deployment projects including configuration, testing, and validation.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot MES-related issues to maintain system stability and performance.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes.
- Support MES upgrades, enhancements, and customization extensions.
- Manage and execute GxP documentation (e.g., test scripts) to ensure compliance.
- Provide on-call support for manufacturing sites as needed.
- Partners with Adoption SME to drive tool adoption and to enhance user experience.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong experience in designing and architecting solutions in Siemens Opcenter / Camstar, CN MOM / CIO, Solution Configuration/ Build with Designer / Portal Studio
- Proven hands-on experience as an MES Functional Architect or similar role.
- Experience with GxP, ITIL (preferably ServiceNow and Jira).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
- Experience working in a complex matrix organization.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial automation, and IIoT technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL databases, scripting, and data integration tools.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications such as ERP, SCADA, and PLM.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
