About the RoleJoin a well-funded AI and robotics startup tackling some of the hardest open problems in the field. This is a senior individual contributor role for engineers who are obsessed with novel, technically difficult challenges - the kind that don't have existing solutions. You'll work across systems-level infrastructure, real-time AI state management, custom OS development, and UX grounded in human psychology and organisational behaviour.
What You'll Do- Design and build custom database and memory systems from scratch.
- Implement real-time LLM token state management at large scale.
- Develop custom Unix OS distributions tailored for both humans and AI agents.
- Rethink UX paradigms using insights from organisational behaviour and human psychology.
- Pursue compounding micro-optimisations across the full stack.
- Work onsite 5 days a week in San Francisco.
What We're Looking For- Required: Deep obsession with novel, overlooked, or technically unsolved problems.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to build large, complex, and maintainable systems in roughly one-third the time most engineers consider possible.
- Required: Proficiency in one or more of: TypeScript, Rust, Python.
- Required: Experience with graph databases, flexible data pipelines, or ontological modelling.
- Comfort applying psychology and organisational behaviour insights to product and UX decisions.
- Signal of outlier intelligence - top academic background or standout real-world experience (non-traditional backgrounds welcome).
Compensation & Benefits- Cash compensation: $200,000 - $400,000 USD annually
