Job Summary:The Mechanical Engineer, focused on L10/L11 integration, is to ensure the physical structural integrity, shock and vibration compliance, and liquid-cooling system performance of AI server/rack systems on the factory floor. This role ensures heavy, multi-node AI racks are assembled within mechanical tolerances, liquid-cooling components are properly integrated and leak-free, and completed racks can withstand transportation and data center deployment conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Validate liquid-cooling loops, hoses, manifolds, quick-disconnects, and related components to ensure proper installation and leak-free operation. Perform pressure and functional testing and troubleshoot fluid-system issues during L10/L11 integration.
- Evaluate rack structures, mechanical interfaces, and component fit to identify structural or assembly issues. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and resolve dimensional, alignment, and mechanical integration problems on the production floor.
- Support shock, vibration, and transportation testing to verify rack durability and structural performance during global shipment and data center deployment. Identify mechanical weaknesses and recommend corrective actions to improve system ruggedization.
- Verify fastener torque, assembly methods, and mechanical installation requirements for rack structures and components. Support production teams in resolving assembly issues and ensuring compliance with approved mechanical specifications.
- Verify Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure approved mechanical changes are correctly implemented in production. Document mechanical failures, analyze trends, and provide feedback to R&D and manufacturing teams for continuous improvement.
Education:- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline; or a related discipline is required.
Experience:- 1+ year of experience validating liquid-cooling systems, fluid loops, hoses, manifolds, quick-disconnects, and leak detection. Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, fluid containment, pressure testing, and leak detection methodologies.
- 1+ year of experience with heavy-duty server/rack structures, L10/L11 integration, or similar large-scale mechanical systems. Strong understanding of structural integrity, assembly requirements, and mechanical load conditions.
- 1+ year of experience performing tolerance analysis, GD&T interpretation, dimensional inspection, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to identify fit, alignment, and tolerance-related issues during production.
- 1+ year of experience with shock, vibration, packaging, or transportation testing for large mechanical systems. Knowledge of structural mechanics, fastener mechanics, and material behavior is required.
- Ability to conduct mechanical failure analysis, troubleshoot production issues, interpret engineering drawings, and collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective actions.
