Your RoleWe have an immediate opportunity for a Vice President Mechanical Engineer for our Restoration & Renewal Practice. We are looking for a candidate with experience in managing and executing mechanical engineering projects involving the evaluation, design, and construction of a broad range of systems, such as, steam generation, chilled water, hydronics, refrigerant and water-based air conditioning, ventilation, air distribution ducting, piping, automated controls, and integration with electrical and fire alarm systems. You should also be well versed in building code analysis and interpretation.
What You'll Do - Develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.
- Develop detailed scope and fee proposals. Negotiate contracts with clients.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, schedule, and staffing.
- Work cohesively with our in-house multidisciplinary team of professionals, which includes structural engineers, architects, HVAC engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing/fire protection engineers, and site civil engineers, on projects of widely varying sizes and complexities.
- Lead the analysis, evaluation, design and specification of mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Supervise the development of design/renovation drawings.
- Prepare and review mechanical calculations, designs, and equipment selections.
- Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, reports, and specifications.
- Perform peer reviews and condition assessments, including order of magnitude cost estimating.
What You'll Bring - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- P.E. license in NY is required. Significant knowledge of and proven experience with NYC building codes and industry mechanical codes is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business, maintain and cultivate client relationships, develop scope and fee proposals, effectively manage projects, and supervise/mentor staff on multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
- Proficient in preparation and review of manual and software assisted calculations.
- Strong analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $140,000 - $215,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
