Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.

This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.

The successful candidate will mobilize on a long-term (camp) assignment to Pecos, Texas. This position is contingent upon project award.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the daily inspection and construction of installed works related to a General Electric 7HA Simple Cycle gas turbine and downstream Selective Catalyst Reduction System. You will be given daily direction by the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer. In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-RM1

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging
  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
  • Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.

Material Management
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities

System Turnover Coordinator

For Direct Hire:
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience on Simple Cycle or Combined Cycle facilities is preferred
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, tanks & vessels and centerline equipment
  • Advance knowledge of applicable codes such as ASME B31.1, ASME Section 1, API 650 etc.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Well developed communication skills and problem solving ability.
  • Prior experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environment, safety, health (ES&H) and quality.
  • Demonstrate commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
