Context
We are seeking aMechanical Engineer (Plumbing and Drainage)to support theStops & TPSSscope of anLRT project. The role is responsible for preparing the plumbing and fire fighting design brief, mechanical design brief, technical specifications, and discipline calculations across multiple stop locations.
Missions/Main Duties
- Produce thePlumbing and Fire Fighting Design Briefand themechanical technical specifications.
- Prepareplumbing and fire fighting calculationsacross stops.
- Defineplatform drains, slab penetrations, sleeves, and pipe routing.
- Issue theschedule of locations, invert levels, and pipe sizesrequired byCivil & Utilities.
- Definefloor drainage, sumps, water piping, and drainage pipingacross sites.
- Reviewplumbing plans, fire fighting plans, piping sections, and detailsprepared by theMechanical Modeller.
- Coordinate thehandover pointwith theCivil Engineer (Grading and Drainage)where mechanical drainage connects to the civil storm network.
Profile/Skills
- University degreein Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum10 years of experienceinmechanical designfor buildings or transit infrastructure, coveringplumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building services.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)in Mechanical Engineering, licensed or eligible for licensure in Ontario.
- Experience definingslab penetrations, floor drainage, sumps, and service connectionsand issuing them to acivil contractor.
- Knowledge ofOBC, NFPA, and CSA B149, as well asOntario plumbing and fire protection requirements.
