Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Produce the Plumbing and Fire Fighting Design Brief and mechanical technical specifications.
  • Prepare plumbing and fire fighting calculations across stop locations.
  • Define platform drains, slab penetrations, sleeves, and pipe routing.
  • Issue the schedule of locations, invert levels, and pipe sizes for Civil & Utilities needs.
  • Define floor drainage, sumps, water piping, and drainage piping.
  • Review plumbing and fire fighting plans and piping details prepared by the Mechanical Modeller.
  • Coordinate handover points with the Civil Engineer for mechanical drainage connections.

Context

We are seeking aMechanical Engineer (Plumbing and Drainage)to support theStops & TPSSscope of anLRT project. The role is responsible for preparing the plumbing and fire fighting design brief, mechanical design brief, technical specifications, and discipline calculations across multiple stop locations.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Produce thePlumbing and Fire Fighting Design Briefand themechanical technical specifications.
  • Prepareplumbing and fire fighting calculationsacross stops.
  • Defineplatform drains, slab penetrations, sleeves, and pipe routing.
  • Issue theschedule of locations, invert levels, and pipe sizesrequired byCivil & Utilities.
  • Definefloor drainage, sumps, water piping, and drainage pipingacross sites.
  • Reviewplumbing plans, fire fighting plans, piping sections, and detailsprepared by theMechanical Modeller.
  • Coordinate thehandover pointwith theCivil Engineer (Grading and Drainage)where mechanical drainage connects to the civil storm network.
Profile/Skills
  • University degreein Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum10 years of experienceinmechanical designfor buildings or transit infrastructure, coveringplumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building services.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)in Mechanical Engineering, licensed or eligible for licensure in Ontario.
