Mechanical Engineer (Industrial- Power and Process)The Position:Our Nashville office is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplined design team. The position will be within our Industrial Power and Process division with a primary focus on large utility generation/ distribution systems and industrial process/ manufacturing facilities. Core Competencies:- Experienced in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Experienced in design of steam systems, hydronic systems, gas compression and distribution systems, building mechanical systems, development of site and facility arrangements, and general process or industrial facility projects.
- Experienced in the design of power generation facilities.
- Experienced in the development of drawing and specification packages for the execution of both Design Build and Design-Bid-Build project styles.
- Assist Project Management team with coordination of other disciplines. Deal directly with client to establish project schedules and expectations. Coordinate other disciplines as needed to ensure project deliverables are coordinated to ensure constructability.
- Manage, direct and supervise mechanical engineering staff in the execution of projects to meet schedules and budget goals of projects.
- Be familiar with and apply applicable codes.
- Supplement Salas O'Brien design standards and administrative procedures where needed.
- Assist team leader in manpower projections and scheduling of work.
- Assist team leader in maintaining and developing client base through various business development efforts.
- Assist market segment manager and team leader in preparation of RFP type proposal responses including project write ups, resumes, and fee developments.
- Take an active lead in proposal for work process. Identify prospective clients and work in conjunction with team leader to establish relationship with those clients.
- Identify new opportunities that may have synergistic benefit with our existing business.
Qualifications:- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
- Professional Engineers (PE) license preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
- Knowledge of project approach and system design.
- Willingness to build and maintain relationships with clients.
