DescriptionWe're looking for a Mechanical Engineer - Thermal to help develop and improve innovative data storage and protection products. In this role, you'll contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on airflow, thermal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams while taking increasing ownership of component design, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, data-driven decision-making, and seeing products move successfully from concept to production.
What You'll Do- Analyze and improve airflow and thermal performance in new and existing products.
- Perform CFD simulations and thermal analysis using tools such as SOLIDWORKS Flow.
- Design test fixtures, tools, and validation methods to verify mechanical performance.
- Develop and refine test procedures that support both product validation and manufacturing.
- Support the transition of designs into manufacturing and help ensure production readiness.
- Analyze build, test, and field performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Lead or support root-cause investigations and failure analyses.
- Create and maintain BOMs, CAD models, drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Release and manage mechanical components for sustaining engineering activities.
- Support end-of-life component replacement efforts and qualification of alternative parts.
- Partner with systems, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to improve product integration, quality, and manufacturability.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of mechanical engineering or product development experience.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
- MUST HAVE Experience with CFD and thermal analysis tools such as SOLIDWORKS Flow or ANSYS.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Familiarity with scripting, automation, or engineering analysis tools is a plus.
- Self-starter who enjoys learning new technologies and improving processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
