The Opportunity:
CACI Danbury is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who reports to the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Supervisor. Thisposition is part of the Mechanical Engineering department and supports design and analysis of hardware for opto-mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems. It requires applying technical skills for moderate complexity interdisciplinary tasks.

Responsibilities:

 Design and perform analysis of hardware for opto-mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems.

 Produce deliverable hardware and related tooling within an integrated product team (IPT).
 Produce new design models and assembly layouts. Work with MCAD/ECAD team to create drawings and Bills of Material using data management software (PDMLink).
 Create engineering designs based on provided requirements.
 Perform engineering analyses relating requirements to relevant design parameters.

 Evaluate preliminary structural design performance using CREO simulate.
 Support various program and customer communications such as; status reports/meetings, telecoms with customer and vendors, prepare in PowerPoint & present design review presentation, provide detailed technical reports.
 Support manufacturing build and test of designed equipment.

Qualifications:

Required:

 2-5 years of experience participating in, and/or executing the design, analysis, development, fabrication, integration, verification, and compliance processes.
 Possess knowledge in opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical, thermal and/or structural systems development.
 Experience working with CAD software.
 Experience working with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
 Written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
 Can-do attitude with qualities conducive to teamwork and collaboration
 Willingness to reach out to other departments and disciplines to drive tasks to completion.

 Ability to take ownership of all tasks, assigned.

 Sole U.S. Citizenship with Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance

Desired:

 Solid modeling and analysis experience with CREO and Windchill PDMLink
 Experience with MathCad and MATLAB
 GD&T - solid understanding of usage and interpretation of GD&T applications on drawings and models.
 Manufacturing, and Test experience
 Materials selection - establish a starting point for materials, lubricants, finishes etc. appropriate for the related environment.
 Electronics packaging - housing designs, mechanical layouts, manufacturing, test for ground or space electronics components, EMI shielding, Connectors (host I/O).
