Concorde Battery Corporation is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize mechanical components for lead-acid batteries. This role involves working with the engineering team developing robust, lightweight, and vibration-resistant designs that meet stringent aerospace standards for safety, reliability, and FAA/Military certification. This is a full-time position that will work on-site in West Covina, reporting to the VP of Engineering. Time is split between the office and manufacturing floor. This position requires a candidate to be approachable, and have good intrapersonal skills, conversing with management and entry level manufacturing employees.
Position Responsibilities:- Design components and/or batteries based on a set of requirements and constraints and oversee the project from concept to production.
- Design, develop, and improve, assembly tooling.
- Troubleshoot fabrication and assembly issues.
- Use SolidWorks to develop models and detailed drawings for aerospace-grade manufacturing.
- Ensure designs comply with FAA, Military, and OEM standards, operational limitations, and other requirements.
- Learn the company's entire product line and become proficient with all products and applications.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or comparable experience and knowledge.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace or battery systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Flexibility for travel when needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
