Job Summary

This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical designs, models, and technical documentation to support production, prototyping, testing, and validation. It works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated product performance while troubleshooting design and manufacturing issues through root-cause analysis and corrective action. The role also supports material selection, cost estimation, design-for-manufacturability, and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations. This position manages multiple projects and priorities while contributing to design reviews, technical reporting, and overall Ametrine goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Design, analyze, and maintain detailed engineering designs, technical documentation, and models to support accurate production and validation activities.
  • Supports prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical hardware
  • Plans and conducts testing to validate designs against performance, safety, and reliability requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated product performance
  • Investigates and resolves design or manufacturing issues through root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • Prepares technical documentation, reports, and presentations for design reviews and project milestones
  • Contributes to proposal writing efforts as both a content creator and an editor
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Supports cost estimation, material selection, and design-for-manufacturability efforts
  • Monitor relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure all products meet applicable guidelines.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment with composure and focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Ametrine goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Prior experience within defense, aerospace, or another regulated industry, preferred.


Other Requirements:
  • Must be US Person, per US government contracts
  • US security clearance is preferred; the ability to obtain upon employment is required.
  • May require domestic and/or international travel.
  • General work hours 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday; flexibility to work evening hours when required.


Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout both office and production environments for extended periods, with occasional lifting of materials or equipment exceeding 25 lbs. Fine motor skills are essential for tasks such as computer work, handling small parts, and assembling prototypes, along with visual acuity to read technical documents and inspect components. The employee will frequently be exposed to noise, heavy machinery, and manufacturing tools in a fast-paced setting that may demand shifting between independent work, team collaboration, and meeting tight deadlines.
