Full Job Description
Essential Functions:

  • Design specialized equipment for windshield fabrication

  • Manage capital projects and oversee the projects from the proposal stage all the way to full implementation

  • Create plant layout drawings that will maximize efficiency and improve safety of plant work areas

  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.

  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills and handling multiple tasks independently with limited supervision.

  • Support for all plant safety initiatives.

  • Instigate studies and actions to resolve technical problems, reduce waste and improve team performance.

  • Assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, P.M., and Capital Expenditure Projects.

  • Maintain/update mechanical and site drawings using AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS

  • Assist in the commissioning of new plant equipment and to ensure that the introduction into the facility is handled efficiently and with minimal disruption to production

  • Some travel may be required; approximately twice per year may be required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 7 or more years related experience.

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing an asset.

  • Strong computer skills (All MS Office programs, CAD).

  • Excellent communication and human relation skills. Also well-developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written

  • Self-Motivated Individual capable of multi-tasking and working well under pressure.
