DescriptionThe Opportunity:
The Mechanical Designer will support the planning, design, and delivery of mechanical building systems across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with the Engineer of Record and a multidisciplinary project team, this role is responsible for developing construction documents, coordinating design efforts, and contributing to high-quality engineering solutions that meet client goals.
This position offers hands-on experience with complex projects, direct mentorship from experienced engineers, and opportunities to build technical expertise, client communication skills, and project leadership capabilities. High-performing team members will have a clear path toward expanded responsibilities and future growth into roles such as Engineer of Record or Project Manager.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will collaborate with project engineers, design staff, and other disciplines to develop mechanical system designs for a variety of building types. Daily responsibilities include performing mechanical design calculations, developing construction documents in Revit, participating in coordination meetings, responding to design review comments, supporting site observations, and assisting with construction administration tasks.

- Support mechanical system design under the direction of Mechanical Leads and Licensed Professional Engineers
- Learn and apply design strategies for building mechanical systems
- Perform basic engineering calculations and documentation tasks
- Develop and coordinate work in Revit and Bluebeam
- Contribute to the preparation of construction documents
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables and daily tasks
- Collaborate with project teams in a hybrid/in-office learning environment
- Support site visits, design coordination, and construction administration efforts as needed
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
- 4+ years of mechanical design experience supporting building system design for commercial, healthcare, life sciences, higher education, or K-12 projects
- EIT designation or active progress toward EIT
- Proficiency in Revit for the development of construction documents
- Ability to work in-office for training and collaboration
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
- Eagerness to learn and take direction from senior staff
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:- Professional Engineering License
- Experience with Bluebeam
- Additional Revit experience or advanced model coordination skills
- Familiarity with mechanical building systems in a consulting engineering environment
Work Environment and Location:
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a requirement of two in-office days per week in our Seattle, Washington office. Candidates must be located in the United States and eligible to work in the U.S.
Compensation: Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 (depending on experience)
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role. Actual salaries will be determined based on location, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications.
