AWT has the following position open in our Minneapolis location. The core schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM, however additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.
Required Job DutiesShipping and Receiving- Partner with Customer Service, Planning, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure customer commitments are met through accurate and timely execution of shipping and receiving activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer routing requirements, shipping instructions, regulatory requirements, and internal operational procedures.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions related to shipping errors and delivery failures.
Warehouse Operations and Material Handling- Establish and maintain safe, efficient, and standardized material flow processes that ensure uninterrupted support for production and customer delivery requirements.
- Develop warehouse strategies related to layout optimization, storage utilization, material flow, equipment requirements, and labor productivity to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Identify and resolve material flow and warehouse issues that negatively impact customer service, operational efficiency, or financial performance.
Inventory Control- Develop and maintain inventory control processes that improve inventory accuracy, reduce material discrepancies, and strengthen warehouse discipline.
- Lead cycle count programs, physical inventory activities, and inventory reconciliation efforts while driving continuous improvement in inventory accuracy.
Logistics and Distribution- Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities, including carrier selection, performance management, freight optimization, and coordination with Procurement on strategic transportation initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with carriers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to improve communication, service levels, and issue resolution
- Support the evaluation, selection, and management of third-party logistics (3PL) partners to improve customer service, transportation efficiency, and total cost of ownership
Continuous Improvement and Performance Management- Develop and deploy the best operational practices, controls, and standard work that can be leveraged across the AWT network to improve consistency, productivity, and service levels.
- Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, warehouse productivity, freight cost, and service performance.
- Identify and resolve material flow, warehouse, inventory, and logistics issues that negatively impact customer service, operational efficiency, or financial performance.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions related to inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, delivery failures, and warehouse process breakdowns.
- Champion the adoption of best practices, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance material flow, inventory accuracy, logistics performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse operations, warehouse layout optimization, material handling efficiency, inventory management, and transportation performance.

Requirements- 7+ years of experience working in warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, logistics, inventory control, manufacturing, materials management, or supply chain leadership
- Bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in supply chain management, business management, logistics, operations management, engineering, or a related field
- Strong business acumen around inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, material flow, transportation, and supply chain management
- Solid shipping, receiving, warehouse management, inventory control, material handling, and logistics background within a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading teams and driving operational improvements within warehouse, distribution, or materials management functions
- Experience developing and implementing processes, controls, and performance metrics that improve inventory accuracy, service levels, and operational efficiency
- Experience partnering with carriers, transportation providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to improve delivery performance and manage transportation costs
- Ability to work on a cross-functional team and influence outside lines of report structure.
