About the role

The Material Scheduler's foremost responsibility is to procure components to effectively meet new product introduction and MRP production demands. The position serves as a key team member to analyze the SAP MRP, release purchase orders, ensure appropriate inventory levels and communicate regularly with component suppliers' customer service representatives. The Material Scheduler will be required to communicate effectively with the operations, warehouse, quality, and production planning to execute the assigned responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyze SAP MRP to ensure components are available to meet planned production demand.
  • Provide data to change control SME for the implementation of new or alternative materials and specifications with existing suppliers, changes in components or introduction of new components.
  • Assure that all activities required are implemented with the established timeframe.
  • Ensure on-time release of purchase orders to approved suppliers for the production materials needed to support production requirements in accordance to packaging components specifications and inventory targets as stated in SAP.
  • Determine and coordinate the best routing of shipment of packaging components.
  • Accurately maintain Master Data of all critical parameters used for MRP explosion.
  • Accurately maintain purchase order data to support supplier performance scorecard creation (e.g. PO line-item creation, date and quantity maintenance).
  • Coordinate and approve "Miscellaneous Shipping Order" (MSO) and any other documents necessary to maintain updated inventory status for make and/or buy production materials, verifying material availability.
  • Support Materials Management projects as assigned.
  • Keep inventory category assigned withing parameters in terms of days of coverage and value.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: BS/BA Degree, preferably in relevant disciplines (Business, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct production material planning/procurement experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management, CPIM (Preferred)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (Preferred)
  • Strong experience/knowledge in ERP system (SAP)


The salary range for this position is from $79,054 to $108,698.70
