Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Market & Product Management Leader leads a team of Market and Product Managers responsible for driving profitable growth across the assigned METTLER TOLEDO Lab portfolio. This position combines people leadership, market and product strategy, commercial execution, and operational planning while ensuring close alignment with Sales Teams, Strategic Business Units (SBU), HUB, Supply Chain, Service, and other cross-functional partners. The responsibilities are as follows:

Market Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute market and product strategies that drive sales, market-share, and profitability growth.
  • Identify customer needs, market trends, competitive threats, and new business opportunities.
  • Lead portfolio positioning, pricing, product launches, promotions, lifecycle management, and phaseout activities.
  • Use market intelligence and customer insights to prioritize industries, applications, customer segments, and channels.
  • Collaborate with SBU partners to represent North American market requirements and influence product roadmaps, innovation priorities, and commercialization plans.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales leadership and field teams to translate market strategies into actions.
  • Support and potentially develop value propositions, sales tools, campaigns, promotional programs, and product-launch plans.
  • Maintain strong alignment with SBU partners on regional priorities, product strategies, and business performance.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Service, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, distribution, and HUB teams.
  • Establish feedback processes that bring customer and sales insights into product, pricing, and portfolio decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate priorities, risks, opportunities, and results to key stakeholders and senior leadership.


Product Management and Business Performance

  • Partner with Sales and SBU stakeholders to develop demand forecasts based on market trends, sales pipelines, promotions, product launches, seasonality, and customer requirements.
  • Lead forecasting and inventory discussions with Sales, SBU, Supply Chain, and HUB partners.
  • Collaborate with HUB teams on inventory levels, product availability, lead times, supply priorities, and aging inventory.
  • Identify and communicate changes in demand, supply constraints, shortages, and excess inventory, coordinating appropriate commercial and operational responses.
  • Align forecasts and inventory plans for new-product introductions and product phaseouts.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, and resource allocation through data-driven analysis and recommendations


Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Market and Product Managers.
  • Establish clear objectives, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Ensure the team has the market knowledge, product expertise, and commercial capabilities needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage performance, resource allocation, and succession planning across the team.


What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in product management, market management, sales, commercial strategy, or a related role.
  • Previous people-leadership or cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Experience in laboratory instrumentation, life sciences, industrial technology, or another technical market preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and/or CRM systems; SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, Hyperion, Think-Cell, and ZenDesk
  • Excellence in interpersonal/communication skills, professional maturity, a self-starter with strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strategic thinking, and willingness to do so within a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing market, product, and commercial growth strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, pricing, forecasting, inventory planning, and competitive analysis.
  • Strong analytical, financial, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to influence and align regional and global partners.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
