This role gathers and translates business requirements, coordinates technology initiatives, and helps ensure manufacturing systems effectively support shop floor operations, user adoption, and continuous improvement.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Connect manufacturing operations with internal technology teams and external vendors to ensure business needs are translated into effective solutions.
  • Support the successful implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of manufacturing technology platforms.
  • Improve operational efficiency by identifying process improvements and coordinating technology enhancements.
  • Ensure technology initiatives, support activities, and user feedback are effectively managed across multiple stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shop supervisors, fabricators, and estimators regarding manufacturing technology questions, issues, and enhancement requests.
  • Gather, document, and communicate business requirements from manufacturing and operations stakeholders for system enhancements, fixes, and new capabilities.
  • Translate shop floor requirements into clear and actionable information for internal technology teams, vendors, and support partners.
  • Represent manufacturing operations in planning discussions with IT, Data & Analytics, vendors, and other technology stakeholders.
  • Communicate updates, timelines, priorities, and outcomes back to end users to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Act as the coordination point between manufacturing operations and the teams responsible for supporting manufacturing systems and technology platforms.
  • Track open issues, enhancement requests, implementation activities, and support priorities across multiple teams.
  • Support prioritization of the manufacturing technology roadmap and backlog in partnership with Digital Manufacturing and technology leadership.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, training schedules, and go-live readiness activities for new systems and enhancements.
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials and user enablement resources.
  • Collect, triage, and communicate user feedback following implementations and system changes.
  • Identify recurring process challenges, user pain points, and operational inefficiencies and bring improvement opportunities forward to the appropriate teams.
  • Maintain an understanding of manufacturing technology roadmaps, system capabilities, and platform limitations.
  • Contribute operational perspectives to system configuration, process design, and technology prioritization decisions.

Must Haves:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Liaison, Technology Coordinator, Product Owner, or similar role supporting manufacturing, ERP, MES, or operational technology systems.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and ERP concepts including MRP, work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), inventory management, and production workflows.
  • Strong ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating priorities and activities across business users, technology teams, and external vendors.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate as a coordinator and business liaison rather than a technical developer or support specialist.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, requests, and implementation activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel periodically to manufacturing facilities to maintain a firsthand understanding of operations.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with Epicor or a comparable mid-market or enterprise ERP platform, particularly MRP and inventory management processes.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or comparable modeling and detailing platforms from a user, administrator, or functional support perspective.
  • Exposure to warehouse management systems (WMS) implementations or inventory technology initiatives.
  • Experience working in industrial manufacturing or production environments.
  • Experience working alongside IT service desks, application support teams, software vendors, or implementation partners.
  • Experience supporting technology rollouts, user adoption initiatives, or business process improvements within manufacturing operations
