Position OverviewReporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Operations Controller plays a critical role in supporting production performance, workforce coordination, process improvement, and operational reporting. This position requires a strong balance of people skills, analytical ability, and manufacturing knowledge to ensure production objectives, quality requirements, and delivery commitments are consistently achieved.Key ResponsibilitiesPeople Coordination
  • Support production leadership by assisting with employee scheduling, training coordination, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability aligned with aerospace and defense industry standards.
  • Serve as a resource for day-to-day employee questions and workflow-related issues on the manufacturing floor.
  • Assist in coordinating communication between production teams and management.
Process Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, standardized work instructions, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, PPAP, and customer-specific standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, throughput, and waste reduction.
  • Help document and maintain best practices, process controls, and operational procedures.
Production Coordination
  • Coordinate daily production schedules, material availability, and resource allocation to support on-time delivery objectives.
  • Monitor shop floor activities and assist in identifying and resolving production bottlenecks or capacity constraints.
  • Work closely with planning, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Track and report production performance metrics, including quality, efficiency, and delivery performance.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production and operational data.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards and generate reports for management review.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement using data-driven insights.
  • Support decision-making through accurate reporting and performance monitoring.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.
  • Support new product introductions, manufacturing readiness activities, and process documentation efforts.
  • Assist with production planning, inventory coordination, and other operational administrative functions as required.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications
  • 3-6+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production coordination, or a related operational role.
  • Experience working within aerospace, defense, energy, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and production reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, PPAP, or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain any required security clearances related to defense and controlled goods programs.
